Overview
The Grand-Auditorium shape is the natural evolution of the Concert and Auditorium models. Larger in both lower width and overall depth, the Rathbone No.3 Grand-Auditorium is designed to deliver an extra servingĀ of power from every direction.
A bright focused combination, the Rathbone R3SMPCEBK combines Solid Spruce on the top with Maple on the back and sides. This pairing delivers a bright immediate tone with superb projection, Maple is a very dense hardwood, This makes it a good choice for live performance because the clarity of tone cuts through the mix well.
The perfect all-rounder, the No.3 has the same scale length as the Orchestra Model but body dimensions closer to a classic dreadnought. The larger body cavity naturally produces greater bass tones, but without sacrificing clarity, and that's the beauty of the Grand-Auditorium. However, a larger body does not mean an unwieldy instrument. Far from it, in fact. The beautiful curves around the waist of the Rathbone No.3 ensure the guitar will sit comfortably on a knee or hang perfectly from your shoulders.
