Vandoren announces the UK release of the new VK1 Synthetic Reed for Bass Clarinet, further expanding its innovative VK range across the clarinet and saxophone families.

Building on the success of the original Bb Clarinet launch, the VK series now includes Bass Clarinet, offering low clarinet players the same advanced material technology and dependable performance already embraced by musicians worldwide.

Developed over seven years, the VK reed is produced from an exclusive high-performance composite, engineered to respond and resonate in the same way as natural cane. Rather than replicating cane’s structure, Vandoren focused on recreating its acoustic properties—resulting in a reed that feels familiar under the embouchure while delivering remarkable stability.

The VK1 cut provides a balanced, centred tone with reliable articulation and secure response across the full range of the instrument, including the upper register. Each reed offers impressive consistency in strength and projection, ensuring players experience dependable results from one reed to the next.

Designed for immediate use, VK reeds require no soaking or preparation.
