Vandoren UK Welcomes Adam Lee as an Official Vandoren Artist
Vandoren UK is proud to welcome Scottish clarinettist, soloist, teacher, and composer Adam Lee as an official Vandoren Artist.
Adam currently serves as Co-Principal Clarinet with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and previously held the position of Principal Clarinet No. 2 with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. He regularly appears as Guest Principal with leading ensembles including the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.
As a soloist, Adam has performed concertos by Mozart, MacMillan, Grime, Nielsen, Weber and Arnold, and has appeared at venues including Wigmore Hall and the 1901 Arts Club. In 2024, he was a Woodwind Finalist in the Royal Over-Seas League Annual Music Competition.
A graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Royal College of Music, he received the RCM’s Tagore Gold Medal and the Principal’s Prize for Excellence from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Adam is also an active composer, with works broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and commissions from the Hyde Clarinet Quartet and the Scottish Clarinet Choir. Alongside his performing career, he is committed to education, delivering private tuition and masterclasses, and serves as an Ambassador for the RCS Woodwind Department and a Trustee of the National Youth Orchestras of Scotland.

Adam performs exclusively on a Vandoren set-up, including the B40 Lyre Bb Clarinet Mouthpiece (Series 13 Profile 88), B40 mouthpieces for E♭ and bass clarinet, Optimum ligatures, and V12 reeds in strength 3.5 across Bb, E♭ and bass clarinet.
