Overview
Designed for the fingerstyle or percussive guitarist who wants a whole new level of expressive performance, the FV-PERC uses Fishman's excellent INK BODY system which fuses the clarity of a traditional undersaddle piezo pickup with the tonal richness of a body sensor, located under the bridge plate.
The revolutionary new body sensor allows for much greater note expression when playing fingerstyle, whilst also delivering a multitude of sonic effects when tapping and slapping various parts of the body. An all-important ‘body’ control located on the preamp fascia allows players to dial in the under-bridge pickup alongside the piezo pickup for full control over the level of percussive elements heard in the mix.
Faith Natural series were the very first style of Faith Guitar, and are a classic combination of Spruce and Mahogany. Using high grade Englemann Spruce for the top and satin finished Mahogany for the back and sides, Natural models feature solid Rosewood binding and Macassan Ebony for the fingerboard, bridge, headplate and heelcap.
Tonally, this combination of wood is generally warm, sweet and mellow, delivering an overall balanced tone. Visualising this as a frequency curve, it would be shaped like a frown: lower on the bass, rising through the middle and dipping once again at the top end. This tonal character means that the notes blend together well and therefore is ideal for strumming and accompaniment purposes, and when recorded, it sits comfortably in a mix.
The solid Engelmann Spruce top is coated with a thin, protective lacquer whereas the back and sides are finished with a satin feel. This contrast ensures a good balance between both control and natural resonance.

Fishman Pre-Amp / Pickup
Ideal for percussive techniques, this Faith Guitar is fitted with a special, low-profile Fishman INK BODY preamp system with both a Sonicore piezo pickup located under the saddle and a body sensor located beneath the bridge plate. The preamp features a chromatic tuner, 3 band EQ, volume control, a frequency notch filter (for feeedback control), a brilliance control and a blend control to the mix of undersaddle and body sensor pickup. The output jack is located at the base of the guitar as part of the ingenious, easy-access battery compartment.
