"Each crystal is carefully placed by hand, care of UK based artisans, to ensure that every instrument is as comfortable to play on as when it left the TJ factory."

The award winning TJ alto flutes have just become even more eye-catching! A pandemic partnership with musicians at Nyenyezi Horns has resulted in some of the most stunningly jaw-dropping instruments ever seen!

With the support of Trevor James, Nyenyezi Horns are taking, the already top-of-the-range, professional TJ flutes and saxes, and hand finishing them with lead crystals to create stunningly individual instruments that blur the line between form and function - is it art…or is it a tool to create art?

Each crystal is carefully placed by hand, care of UK based artisans, to ensure that every instrument is as comfortable to play on as when it left the TJ factory, and to ensure that no matter the angle, lighting or setting your instrument finds itself in, it shines as brightly as the stars.

One of the reasons this collaboration is so successful is down to TJ’s new ‘Copper Body’ flutes. These groundbreaking instruments are comprised of 85% copper tubing, meaning each flute is significantly lighter than the standard alternatives without any compromise in sound. In turn, Nyenyezi found that the small additional weight from the crystal finish was balanced out perfectly by these lighter copper instruments. Additionally, every instrument is returned to Trevor James upon completion of it’s finish, to be setup by Dave Farley’s [TJ Technical Director] fantastic team of technicians; ensuring that this partnership’s products are as ergonomically comfortable to play on, as they are sublime to behold.

Thanks to the hand finished nature and placement of the lead crystals, a Nyenyezi finish actually adds an additional layer of texture and complexity to the sound produced - retaining all of that gorgeous Trevor James central core while adding an additional je ne sais quoi to the edges of the tone - these are serious instruments for serious players!

Nyenyezi Horns will be launching globally in June of 2022, however there are a small number of pre-release instruments available to purchase in this stunning Rihanna finish. If you want to shine bright like a diamond, then contact @nyenyezihorns and you might be lucky enough to snap one up before they disappear!
