Hidersine Piacenza05/06/2006 |
||
Hidersine, undoubtedly one of the oldest and best loved rosin makers in the world, have unveiled the new Piacenza range of quality student instruments. The first of these, the Piacenza 1 Violin, is designed to give the beginner the very best playing experience.
The sound table is hand carved, straight grained spruce; the ribs, scroll and back are hand-carved figured and flamed maple; Ebony is used for the fingerboard, pegs and chin rest; and Thomastik Infeld provide the high quality strings that are fitted as standard. Add to this, a quality half mounted wooden bow with ebony frog, and a lightweight Hidersine case, you have a truly fantastic package.
About Hidersine. 2006 sees the 130th anniversary of arguably the best known bowed instrument Rosin in the world.
In 1876, Dr Hider – a Swiss chemist and violinist working in London - became fed up with the lack of decent rosins available. Subsequently, combining his knowledge of chemistry and music, he decided to develop his own. So Hidersine Rosin was born.
On the Shropshire/Welsh Borders, The Hidersine Company, in conjunction with parent company, Barnes and Mullins Ltd, still manufacture the Rosins in the traditional way to the same recipe Dr Hider specified 130 years ago.
As well as the comprehensive range of Violin, Viola, Cello and Bass rosins, Hidersine have turned their attention to Orchestral Bows, Orchestral string Cases. |
