LAG's London Guitar Show

02/05/2007

The biggest and best yet.

Last weekend (27th – 29th April) saw yet another great London Guitar Show. Held at London Docklands Excel Centre, the 2007 LGS was possibly the best yet.

Buoyed by  a great turnout – approximately 12000 on Saturday alone - LAG Guitars were seen by yet more eager, enthusiastic guitarists of all ages.

Due to the broad range of LAG on display, visitors could easily compare the relative merits of the 100, 200, 1000 and Mastershop2000 series, plus the acclaimed Four Seasons Acoustics – all in one location.

The reaction from visitors was undeniably positive, with many players of all ages taking advantage of the LAG ‘Demo Area’ to try out the guitars for themselves.

The new Far-Eastern made 1000Series had their first public showing this year, and very impressive they were too. Players were blown away by the ‘hand-made’ quality of the models, plus the highly specified hardware and accessories. With the 1000 Series previously costing upwards of £1300, these new models can now be bought for around £700, and yet still retain the quality expected from the brand.

With the show featuring cameos and appearances from Steve Vai, Sikth, Bruce Dickinson, The Automatic and Trivium, LAG demonstrator Wim Roelants was in good company, and his performances were a definite highlight for all. Every hour, Wim, who has played with other legends such as Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, Joe Satriani and Billy Sheehan, stunned the audience into submission with his fret-board wizardry, all the while staying cool enough to film his live promo for the up-coming Wim Roelants’ Lick Library tuition DVD. Drawing huge crowds for his shows, Wim was often besieged afterward by curious and awe-inspired visitors eager to meet and photograph the axe-man and get hold of his latest album, ‘Burn’.

Others who came to see us the LAG booth were representatives from the Music Industry Association’s ‘Weekend Warriors’ scheme, Kerrang Radio, XFM and Planet Rock, as well as a host of Musical Instrument Retailers.

Thanks to all for a great show.
