LAG bags a Prodigy20/09/2006 |
||
LAG Guitars are proud to have aided the 13 year old musical Prodigy that is Nia Rogers – the second winner of the Kerrang Legends LAG Guitar Giveaway.
Nia, from Birmingham entered her ‘sob story’ as requested by Stuart Cable, the Legends Show presenter. An accomplished Pianist and Cellist already, Nia told Stuart that she needed a decent electric guitar, and if she didn’t win, that he’d be “preventing the rise of the next Jimi Hendrix”. You cant argue with that! Now, hopefully Nia can fulfil her desire to play like her idols “Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Slash and Angus Young”, and her parents wont make her play any more “boring Mozart, Bach, Chopin and horrible, clashy modern classical music”. (Her words, not mine!) The Kerrang Radio / LAG Guitars linkup is into its third month now, and has continued to be a great success, with listener numbers increasing week by week, and the guitar giveaways become more and more inventive.
Listen to Stuart Cable’s Kerrang Legends show Every Sunday 9am-12. 105.2FM, DAB, Satellite, Cable or online@kerrangradio.co.uk. |

This years London Guitar Show was a Roaring Success. It was the first time that Lag had been exhibited to the public in the UK, and judging by the incredible response, it certainly won't be the last. Visitors to the show were treated to a full line-up of guitars, a demo station where instruments could be tested, and of course the Shred-Tastic Wim Roelants - Belgium's answer to Steve Vai.
Now you've seen them for real, we're sure you'll want more. If you didn't get your catalogue at the show, go to the Brochure Request to get your copy now. |

Marty Freidman rocks with Onerr23/02/2006 |
||
“Although today’s effect pedal market is bursting with budget and boutique offerings, there’s always room for units that are well built, don’t break the bank and offer straight-forward sounds for hard-working players. That’s precisely the niche Onerr is aiming at with its comprehensive new line of pedals that are capable of producing the most popular flavours on the tone menu. All the pedals in this Brazilian-made line are housed in identical die-cast metal casings, with control and output configurations to suit each unit’s requirements. Though these pedals approximate the design and features of the Boss format, they are far from copies of them. One similar touch, however, is the wide, rubber-covered footswitch and its accompanying thumbwheel screw, which provides fast access to the battery. Onerr offers some sturdy and good-sounding alternatives stomp boxes in its new line. These pedals may resemble similar Boss units, but their price tags look more like those of Danelectros”. – Taken from Review by Dave Hunter in US Magazine, Guitar World – Feb 2005. |

Thomastik Infeld release the Loudest Strings19/12/2005 |
||
For over 80 years, Thomastik Infeld have been at the forefront of string technology. Having invented the Steel String in Vienna during 1919, and subsequently revolutionised the orchestral string world, Thomastik Infeld continue to innovate to this day. Thomastik can now boast ranges designed with every conceivable player in mind. Spectrum Bronze acoustic strings use a unique bronze formula with silk inlays which produce a warm, full tone, and yet a sparkling clarity that cuts thru even the most dense sound mix. Plectrum Acoustic strings offer a combination of overall lower tensions and a hybrid arrangement of Flatwound and Bronze Roundwound strings. Due to the lower tensions, these strings can also prolong the playing life of many older, more delicate guitars. Developing these strings with a team of acoustic scientists, engineers and professional musicians, Thomastik have based their decisions on performance and musicality – using more expensive, higher tensile core steel for greater flexibility and sustain. They have even built bespoke machines to allow specific winding techniques that achieve a better tonal balance. |

Onerr FX pedals have released the hot new TO3 Tungsten Drivemaster. Used by Metal god Marty Freidman, the Drivemaster gives complete control over a vast range of sounds. Whether it’s Blues or Full-On Metal, this pedal will produce the sound you’re looking for. Housed within an ultra-tough metal casing, the range of Onerr pedals will withstand the regular and enthusiastic use they will undoubtedly get.
The latest additions to the Thomastik range are the Infeld Electric and Bass sets. These feature a much higher iron alloy content than the average string, thus creating much better interaction with the guitar pickups. As a result they allow for higher gain and produce a much higher output.
